To run webCDcreator on Mac OS 8.1 or later install the MRJ 2.2.5, and copy the file webCDcreator.jar to the "MRJClasses" folder. Then use the "apple applet runner" or the HotJava Browser 3.0 to run webCDcreator.
Remark: Since I don't have any possibility to test the Mac support myself feedback on this page is very welcome!
Danny Sauer wrote:The mac setup instructions could be helped a little bit:In addition to getting the webcdcreator.jar file and putting it in the MRJclasses folder, the user also needs to get the swingall.jar and mac.jar files from Sun's JFC kit. Specifically, they need to get the "jfc 1.1 with swing 1.1.1" file from http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/download.html (direct link: http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/download.archive.html ). They should install that to a temporary folder, get the 2 required files out, copy them to the MRJclasses folder, and then get rid of the temporary folder, as the rest are not needed. This info was based on some info from http://x.itsamac.com/~jamesoutlaw/outlawcafe.org/MRJ-FAQ/#use, in case you wonder. With a little more work, BTW, the applet could be made into a self-running app under MacOS (info also on that page).
It might be helpful to mention that the MRJclasses folder is located in the system folder under extensions:MRJLibraries:MRJClasses, BTW. It took me a while to find that.
Also, it's not clear how to run the applet from appletrunner. I had the best luck by putting in the URL http://@SERVER@:@PORT@/webCDcreator/4MJR.html under the "edit applet list" command. In that way, there's no need for the hot java browser (which is slow and horrible anyway). :) With the proper swing jars in the MRJClasses folder, the program runs fine under IE 4.5, but still kills netscape.
